About the Hotel Rosita

In 1948 Puerto Vallarta was known as "Puerto Las Peñas". It was a quiet Town with a small population. People walked along the beach area, now known as the Malecon. There were many warehouses owned by the locals overlooking the beach. They stored corn, seeds and coconut oil and exported these items in large ships that docked off the main street. The regional commerce areas in this era were Puerto Vallarta, San Sebastian, Talpa and Mascota.

Hotel Rosita is located near the business district. Also across the street the Malecon starts where you'll find great restaurants, retails stores and recreational beach areas.

A ten minute walk will lead you to the main church, municipal offices and Puerto Vallarta's market place. Hotel Rosita is considered the most traditional hotel in Puerto Vallarta and considered a jewel due to its typical mexican architecture.

In 1962 when the film "The Night of the Iguana" was directed by John Houston, Hotel Rosita repeatedly received the visit of Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Ava Gardner and all the staff of the film that enjoyed nice meals in our restaurant .It offers the ambience and hospitality of how life was once enjoyed in Puerto Vallarta.
